- Key Responsibilities

Maple Bear Sofia is seeking an enthusiastic and highly qualified Elementary English Language Arts (ELA) Teacher to join our growing academic team. The successful candidate will inspire a love of reading, writing, speaking, and listening while fostering strong literacy foundations in students from Kindergarten (Grade 0) through Grade 4. Working within Maple Bear’s bilingual Bulgarian-Canadian educational framework, the teacher will create engaging, student-centered learning experiences that promote language development, critical thinking, creativity, and lifelong learning.
- Key Responsibilities
- Teach English Language Arts to students in Grades 0–4 following the Maple Bear and blended Bulgarian-Canadian curriculum.
- Develop and implement engaging literacy instruction focused on reading, writing, oral communication, phonological awareness, vocabulary development, and comprehension.
- Create a positive, inclusive, and nurturing classroom environment that supports student growth and well-being.
- Utilize inquiry-based, play-based, and experiential learning approaches appropriate for elementary learners.
- Differentiate instruction to meet the diverse needs and abilities of students.
- Monitor, assess, and report on student progress using a variety of formative and summative assessment strategies.
- Foster a strong reading culture and encourage a lifelong love of literacy.
- Collaborate closely with classroom teachers, specialists, support staff, and families.
